Three-dimensional sculptural reliefs using marble, semi-precious stones and resin

There’s something priceless about the world you visit when you create art to express your point of view. It connects you to the world’s beautiful spirit by visualizing it in a way that expresses the respect, curiosity and awe you have for it .

Natasha McCafferty is a North Vancouver–based mixed media artist creating three-dimensional sculptural reliefs that explore the relationship between stone, resin, light, and geological form. Incorporating materials such as marble, onyx, and mother of pearl, her work investigates themes of permanence, fracture, transformation, and environmental awareness through layered abstract compositions.

Central to her practice is the use of upcycled and reclaimed stone materials, reflecting a commitment to reducing waste associated with quarrying and marble extraction. By repurposing fragments of natural stone formed over immense geological timescales, McCafferty’s work considers both the beauty and scarcity of these materials while encouraging greater awareness of environmental impact, consumption, and material permanence.

Through the contrast of fluid resin and solid stone, she creates tactile sculptural works that balance fragility and strength, inviting viewers to reflect on the relationship between human intervention, natural resources, and time.
